| I have spent the last few hours making a little easy to understand tutorial to better help you, ive put them all in spoilers as a big wall of text can often be offputting click the spoilers to see what content you ish to veiw Building your Character- Spoiler:
At first your Character will start with 28 points (explained below) each class has its own attribute that should be worked on (Eg, Cleric is Wisdom, Sorc is intelligence) normally if you pick a path at the beginning you wont need to worry about where to put stuff but to maximise and customise it to its full potentual its best to stat the character yourself this is where 32 point build comes in handy (bought from ddo store) this will give you 32 points to use on your characters atrributes
Knowing your character, its always best to know what type of character you are choosing before making it and planing ahead, you dont want to be a cleric if you want to use a crossbow or and fighter that likes to cast magic, stick to what the class is ment for, although saying that its possible to multi class to make things more bareable but this is not advised unless you know what you are doing,
Multi Class Multi class is where you have more then one class, EG. a Fighter Mixed with a Paladin, Why would someone do that you may ask?, well fighters can use tower sheild which paladins can not so by taking 1 level as a fighter it allows the paladin to use a tower sheild making him a better tank.
What is Favor?- Spoiler:
There are Several Factions in DDO each quest will belong to a faction, the more quests you do for a faction the more they like and trust you, this will lead to rewards such as extra backpack space, bank space, buffs and lots more, total favour is also added up and will unlock
Total Favor Rewards Faction Rewards
How Favor works When you do a quest you will get favor each quest favor is different and has 3 levels normal hard and elite as an example you will get 5 favor for doing normal, 10 for hard, 15 for elite, you will NOt get this everytime you do the quest and it will always take the higher value so say you do the quest on normal and end up with 5 favour, then do it on hard, for 10 favor, you will still only end up with 10 favor, then if you choose to also do elite you will end up with only the 15 favor for doing elite
Favor also earns you turbine points (also called DDO points) Turbine has linked getting free points with its favor system. For every 100 favor points you earn 25 free Turbine points that you can spend in its store. For each first time toon on a new server they give you bonus points. As an example you gain 100 points by the time you reach 100 favor on your first toon. This favor bonus is obtainable on all six servers. So it is in your best interest to level at least one toon and get as much favor as possible.
